Sonic

Sonic is an expressive display typeface designed by István Fazekas, a Hungarian graphic designer. The process, so the designer says "creating Sonic started as late-night experimentation with grid-based letters, however, it quickly became one of my favourite projects to work on". In a highly prominent way, Sonic mixes the visuality first sci-fi movies with the trends of contemporary typography.

With its extended, ergonomic shapes this typeface has the impression of speedy motion. Designed with tight spacing, these characters create a pattern-like structure when setting typographically in a design a layout. Sonic is best suited for big headlines so its unique characteristics can be seen.
