Emile is bold, it celebrates the quirkiness of letterform. Strongly inspired by brush calligraphy, Emile explores the boundaries of tools used in the writing process and possibilities of how each shape can turn out to be. Emile is intended to stand out, to highlight itself with its exaggerated contrast and spontaneous strokes blended together with round shapes.
Both these elements result in Emile having a friendly feel whilst not being too formal, a quirky and unconventional approach to the traditional serif type. Emile is most suitable for headlines but it can also be used as a text. Emile is equipped with many OpenType features; tabular numerals, inferiors & superiors, numerators & denominators, fractions, ligatures etc.
