Freizeit, designed by Lewis Macdonald, is a Neo Grotesque typeface that pays homage to the mid-century classics like Universe, Neue Haas Grotesk, and Folio, while also drawing inspiration from earlier sans serif designs.

Featuring strictly horizontal or vertical terminals, modern proportions, and closed apertures, Freizeit firmly belongs to the Neo Grotesque genre. However, it distinguishes itself with a moderate amount of contrast and a slight angle of stress in certain places. The aggressive stroke narrowing at joins and occasional playful forms deviate from the neutrality of the Swiss realist style, adding a dynamic and contemporary flair.

Freizeit is available in 3 separate widths: 100, 120 and 140.
