Plastic is a unique monospace variable font offering four distinct master styles: Chain Black, Chain Thin, Simple Black, and Simple Thin. Inspired by the 'Céčka fever' phenomenon in communist Czechoslovakia, the 'Chain' styles replicate the C-shaped plastic hooks collected for decorative chains on windows and doors.
In contrast, the 'Simple' styles are tailored for legibility in longer texts and smaller sizes, devoid of the decorative chain feature. With a variable format allowing interpolation across two axes—stroke weight and serif length—Plastic offers a versatile array of styles and combinations. Users can customize the font's weight and serif length to suit specific design needs, ensuring flexibility and functionality across various applications.
