Fayte is a blackletter inspired by the minuscule characters of textura quadrata calligraphy. However, Fayte takes a few departures from the norm in order to bring it into the modern realm. The upper case letters trade in the traditional ornate look for a more conservative structure that matches the lower case letters. The X-height is raised up slightly beyond what is traditional for textura quadrata. The width is also slightly condensed adding a strong vertical presence to the traditionally square letters.
