Tarif

Tarif

Tarif is a typeface family inspired by the multicultural utopia of La Convivencia – the peaceful coexistence of Muslims, Christians and Jews in tenth century Andalusia, which played an important role in bringing between Europe, the classics of Greek philosophy, and Muslim culture and aesthetics.

Designed for Zetafonts by Andrea Tartarelli, this slab serif typeface has a humanist skeleton and inverted contrast, subtly mixing Latin zest, calligraphic details, extreme inktraps and a postmodern unorthodox reinvention of traditional grotesque letter shapes. Resulting in an exuberant design, Tarif is perfect for titling, logos and display use. Complemented by a wide range of seven weights, it allows for solid editorial use, as well as great readability in body text.
