Kritik

+

The first design of “Kritik” was specially made for an architecture magazine and developed further over time. Attempting to reflect the magazine’s subject and theme, the typeface was designed with angular characters but, in its basic form, they were round and soft, adding on elements in addition to an already existing scaffold, a process akin to constructing a building.

The name comes from the German word “Kritik” and means criticism. Criticism can be hard and destructive or soft and constructive. Both conditions have been turned into one typeface. This produced a type family consisting of 7 weights: Light, Regular, Medium, SemiBold, Bold, ExtraBold and Black.
